F.A.Q. Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  Why Triple Two?

A.    Triple Two is a three part hospital disinfectant at a dilution rate of 2 oz. per gallon of water.  You can use this one product to clean, disinfect and deodorize daily and since it’s a stable product it won’t lose its efficacy (the ability to kill germs) when mixed with water.  You can mix it now and use it days, or even and months later.

Q.  What does it smell like?

A.    Triple Two has a light spearmint scent.  It’s not overwhelming or so powerful it irritates the senses.  Just enough to let you know you’ve cleaned.

Q.  Where should I use Triple Two?

A.  Triple Two can be used in hospitals, kennels, pet animal quarters, zoos, pet shops, animal laboratories, transportation terminals and dairy farms.

Q.  Do I have to clean before using Triple Two?

A.    No, Triple Two will handle all of your cleaning needs.  You simply remove any gross soils or bulk matter, apply Triple Two, rinse it away and wipe the surface dry.

Q.  Why do I have to rinse it?

A.    We recommend rinsing any cleaner; otherwise you’re leaving behind dirt, germs and detergent.  For the surfaces to be truly clean it must be free of all contaminates.

Q.  How long do I have to leave it on and why?

A.    The EPA requires leaving all disinfectants on for a 10 minute contact time to kill or inactivate different strains of bacteria, viruses, and fungus.  Triple Two is a sanitizer at 60 seconds.

Q.  Can I use it on the floors?

A.    Triple Two can be used on all washable hard, nonporous surfaces such as floors, kennel runs, exam tables, countertops, grooming tables, synthetic turf or anywhere the risk of cross contamination exists.  When used at the recommended dilution rate of 2 oz. per gallon it will not violate the manufacturer’s warranty or corrode, streak, haze, strip or leave a sticky floor behind.

Q.  Is it as effective against mold and mildew?

A.    At 2 oz. per gallon of water Triple Two will effectively inhibit the growth of mold and mildew and the odors caused by them when applied to hard, nonporous surfaces.

Q.  Is Triple Two pet friendly or do I have to remove the animal before spraying it?

A.    Triple Two is environmentally friendly and safe for animals and humans.  Still, we recommend removing the animal before cleaning with any cleaner to reduce the stress level on the animal.  When the stress level is up, the defenses of the immune system are down.

Q.  Is it safe to use Triple Two in the toilet, pipes, holding tanks or septic system?

A.    Yes, Triple Two is a non-acidic, germicidal detergent and deodorant that is effective in a moderate amount of soil. It is safe to use on washable hard, nonporous surfaces like toilet bowls, walls, shower stalls, and urinals.

Q.  I have other questions.  What should I do?

A.  Press the button at the top of each page to chat with a sales consultant now or call us at (800) 424-7536.

  1. Use Triple Two to clean Boarding Kennel and Groom Shop Review by Shon Eddlemon-manager

Just wanted to let you know how well Triple Two works. I have used your product for a period of 8 years in our boarding kennel and groom shop. Since we have started with this product I haven’t had any of the typical issues faced with boarding large amounts of pets. Our facility can hold 120 dogs and 25 cats and we are constantly using cleaner in the boarding areas, grooming room or in the day care area. The fragrance that comes from the product doesn’t have the “hospital” smell like most disinfectants have and we use it in pressure washers so it’s diluted at the proper portion-and it works great. The cage and kennel is also used once a week for de-greaser purposes and my staff love how well it smells in the kennel –just like a orange grove! We also use the cage and kennel in our groom room after we have bathed a dog that has been sprayed by a skunk to eliminate the smell-we just wash down the tub and walls and you would never know that the room smelled at all, and it removes all the shampoo residue in the bath tubs.

    Thanks

  2. Concentrated Cleansers That Last Review by Rockinham Vet

We are a startup veterinary emergency hospital and we have had the Veterinary Hospital Sanitation System since we opened. We asked our staff what they thought of the system and some of the responses are: smells great, easy to use, works great and economical. We are still using the first bottle of concentrate after eight months! The foam sprayer is very effective for cleaning runs and hammock beds. In a nutshell, we could not be happier!

  3. Using Triple Two everyday kept Kennel Cough from spreading throughout our facility and our animals adoptable. Review by Dianne Daniel

This winter was extremely harsh for us here in Texas. Trying to cut down on Kennel Cough in our kennels is always a challenge. We have 101 kennels here at this shelter. I had used Triple Two at another facility some years back and remembered how will it worked fighting this upper respiratory illness.

After retiring and then coming to the Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter, for two years kennel cough was out of control. I finally found an old order magazine and ordered Triple Two.

After using this product everyday during our harsh, cold winter, we only had about five cases of Kennel Cough. It did not spread normally as it does and kept our animals adoptable. We just want you to know what a terrific product this is!

  4. Very pleased with the quality of microbe control that we've received with your Triple Two disinfectant. Review by Cullen M. Dauchey, DMV

    Dear Chris,

When I first met you at the Central Veterinary Conference in August of 2001, I was experiencing what I considered to be an excessive amount of expensive keeping kennel disinfectant in stock. I think that the extra glug-glug into the mop bucket or the trigger sprayers was really costing me money. Then you demonstrated to me how your disinfectant mixer accurately mixes the prescribed amount of disinfectant into the trigger spray bottles and mop buckets, and I was convinced that it would save me money in the long run. I am pleased to report to you that the mixer has cut my disinfectant costs in HALF, and I am very pleased with it.

It has been in use now for about two years and we are also very pleased with the quality of microbe control that we've received with your Triple Two disinfectant, and we are using it exclusively for our kennel and clinic disinfectant. We are also very pleased with the disinfectant system utilizing the foaming water gun in our kennels.
Thanks again for showing me how to save on disinfectant expenses with the mixer.
